Oded Ben-Joseph, Ph.D. – Managing Director
Dr. Ben-Joseph brings significant executive, entrepreneurial and transactional experience to Boston Equity Advisors. Dr. Ben-Joseph was formerly an Executive-in-Residence at Oxford Bioscience Partners and CEO and co-founder of Caliber Therapeutics, Inc. Caliber was engaged in the development of catheter-based drug delivery products for the treatment of atherosclerotic diseases. His past academic, managerial and entrepreneurial positions also include:
- President and CEO of X-Cell Medical, Inc., a clinical stage drug/device convergence company engaged in the development of novel stent-based anti-restenotic drugs
- President of Ester Neurosciences, a clinical stage biotech company engaged in the development of novel compounds for the treatment of neurological diseases, which was acquired by Amarin Corp.
- Co-founder and CEO of Biolight Phototherapy, a company engaged in the development of laser-based medical devices for the treatment of dermatological disorders and allergies, which was acquired by a private equity firm.
- Assistant Professor at the Departments of Radiology and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan, a visiting Associate Professor at Tokushima University in Japan and a Visiting Scientist at Parke-Davis. Dr. Ben-Joseph has published over 30 peer-review papers.
He graduated with Honors from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine (U.K.) and received his Ph.D. from Cambridge University (U.K). He completed his post-doctoral training at University of Michigan and received an MBA magna cum laude from University of Bradford. Dr. Ben-Joseph holds Series 7 and 63 securities registrations.
